Writing a Literature Review

Workshops currently take place online only. The twelve hours are divided into eight 1,5-hour sessions spread over four mornings from 9:00 to 13:00.

You will need access to a computer or laptop and a stable internet connection.

Anyone can attend, but the workshop is specifically aimed at postgraduate students and researchers busy writing a literature review. We are happy to accommodate all levels of language and writing proficiency.

A maximum of 20 participants can be accommodated in the workshop. The application process consists of two steps: enrolment and registration. To enrol for the workshop, please click on the ‘Enrol now’ button below or at the top, and complete and submit the online enrolment form. The Writing Lab reserves the right to cancel the workshop should there be an insufficient number of enrolments.

A week before the workshop starts, you will receive an e-mail from Selene Delport with a link to the workshop offering on Stellenbosch University’s Short Course Registration System (SCRS). Once you’ve entered your information into the system, you’ll receive an automated e-mail with all the payment details and instructions.

Please note that the full workshop fee will be levied if you cancel your registration after the closing date, or if you fail to attend. To cancel your enrolment, please email Selene Delport directly.

You will receive a certificate of attendance from the Stellenbosch University Language Centre once you have completed the workshop and we have received the full workshop fee.

You will have an opportunity to refine your literature reviews in an interactive and practical way. In addition, you will get to know how to  integrate sources appropriately and develop your academic voice.
