The Writing Laboratory – or the Writing Lab – was established in 2001 and has been a part of the academic careers of generations of Stellenbosch University students. We collaborate with students and other academic writers to help them reach their academic potential.

[us_separator size=”custom” height=”10px”]We offer one-to-one and small-group writing consultations for students of all disciplines and at any level of study. The friendly, student-centric Writing Lab is a space where undergraduates, postgraduates and international students can feel at home.
Our writing consultation service is free for SU students and staff, and writers can have as many writing consultations as they need. We meet our writers where they are, metaphorically and literally too, as far as possible.
Whatever your capability level, come and speak to a supportive writing consultant or join one of our dynamic writing workshops or postgrad writing groups. There’s no writing issue too big or too small to discuss with us. We might even be able to teach you some new writing tricks!
If you book an online consultation, you will receive a meeting request at least the evening before your appointment.
If you have access to the booking system and would like to create a booking but can’t see available timeslots, contact the Writing Lab for assistance.
If you don’t have access to the booking system, please renew your password via user administration: Stellenbosch University – User Administration to synchronize your password with all systems of Stellenbosch University.
