Survival isiXhosa

R450

What if there’s a fun and quick way to learn some isiXhosa to use on campus?

Master the basics with our interactive survival course tailored to your world and connect better in more languages. This course is practical and interactive, and we incorporate campus-related scenarios to encourage the use of authentic language. We will focus specifically on speaking, listening and reading isiXhosa. You will be able to use isiXhosa to take part in basic campus-related conversations, and as part of the larger University context, you will also gain an understanding of the cultural value of multilingualism.

Presenter

Bruce Khayalethu Blaine developed his love for teaching isiXhosa while completing his PGCE at Stellenbosch University. It was during this time that he realised the necessity for language equity in South Africa and thus has been teaching or tutoring non-mother tongue speakers of isiXhosa for the past ten years. He loves teaching isiXhosa and sharing his culture and roots with others. Our presenters are experts at teaching isiXhosa to non-native speakers and have a practical and interactive approach to learning.

Location

All sessions will be offered in Stellenbosch at the University campus.
